Representatives from the Greater Cincinnati Human Rights Campaign attended the 6th annual Equality Ohio Lobby Day Wednesday, May 18th.  Political Co-Chair, Steve Newsome and Volunteer Coordinator, Emily Ryan spent the day on Capitol Square meeting with local legislators and staffers offering information on important pieces of LGBT legislation ranging from Safe Schools and anti-bullying bills to Equal Housing and Employment measures.  "We were met with warmth and support from most of our Legislators and I couldn't be happier with the progress we made in trying to advance our agenda" said Steve Newsome.  "We are blessed to have such great advocates like Sen. Erich Kearney and Reps. Driehaus & Pillich in southern Ohio."   Due to the hard work of Equality Ohio's team nearly 200 people from across Ohio turned out for the event and are expecting even more next year.  Newsome & Ryan were also joined by Equality Ohio Board Member Bob Blum and Gay Chamber Vice-President John Bodgess.  To learn more about issues currently circulating through the Ohio Legislature and Congress please visit Equality Ohio or HRC.

Editors note: We are unable to attend, but the Center encourages all friends of the cause to educate our legislators.  We asked, Steve Newsome of HRC Cincinnati to give us a report to share.  Thanks Steve!
