Nick Miller is helping host a fundraiser for the organization Legalize Trans*. It is sort of a counter to the massive Legalize Gay campaign (which is a very effective and positive campaign), however seems a little exclusive to the G part of the GLBT spectrum. My good friend, Asher Koleboi who is a trans man, had the idea to create similar shirts, but this time said Legalize Trans* as a voice for all the trans folks out there who are so often disregarded, marginalized, and thrown "under the bus" but the GLB community, and obviously the straight community also.

Next Thursday, the 27th, at Below Zero there is a karaoke fundraiser with the hopes of selling Legalize Trans* merchandise (the founder will be on hand!) and raising money for the organization. There is no cover, but any donations, purchases, or raffle tickets bought would come in handy! The money donated goes to helping educate the community about transgender people, their needs, training on how to be an ally, and funding the costs of surgeries for trans folks near and far. It really will be a stellar night and if you support the trans community, and just want to know more, come on out. 10pm.
