CSO PRESENTS PRIDE NIGHT: OUT ON THE TOWN

Celebration of diversity following all-American concert featuring clarinetist Martin Fröst

CINCINNATI—On Saturday, May 7, following the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s second-to-last concert program of the season, the LGBT community, its friends and supporters gather for a lively party in the grand Music Hall foyer in a celebration of diversity. The CSO hosts its 8th annual Pride Night, this year dubbed ―Out On the To wn,‖ to correspond with the Orchestra’s program known as ―On the To wn.‖ The concert features Maestro Paavo Järvi (in his ―Final Two‖ as Music Director) conducting the CSO in an all- American program including the works of Bernstein, Ives and Varése, as well as the popular clarinetist Martin Fröst performing Copland’s jazzy Clarinet Concerto. The concert begins with the World Premiere of Charles Coleman’s PJ Fanfare, one of the five Anniversary Fanfares commissioned for the CSO in honor of Maestro Järvi’s tenth anniversary as Music Director and the 50 th anniversary of radio station WGUC.

Following the concert, the Music Hall lobby transforms into a magnificent party space to enjoy live music from Cyb ele (a Cincinnati celebrity from her live performances at The Celestial), networking, delicious sweets & savories, plus complimentary beer and wine and a special appearances by Maestro Järvi and Mr. Fröst.
