Greetings all. Here is the latest update of exciting Equality Cincinnati news:

*Equality Cincinnati has raised nearly $1,000 for the 2011 Scholarship! We are grateful to PFLAG's mentoring us with this process and are collaborating our efforts with them. Equality Cincinnati is near our goal and I am asking that you each go to equalitycincinnati.org site and use our PayPal to make a contribution of $10, $15, $25, or whatever you can afford. Or you can match our Leadership Level gift of $250. Together we can make a difference in our LGBTQ community.

*In December and January, EC coordinated services with "non-LGBTQ" community providers for 5 LGBTQ individuals who were experincing harassment, discrimination, and violence. EC thanks our community partners for reaching out to EC to "connect the dots" for needs of the local LGBTQ community.

*In January, EC celebrated anniversaries of 4 couples registered with EC's Domestic Partner Registry. Congratualtions to them!

*January 6, 2011 EC convened the first mtg of the LGBTQ youth harassment/violence prevention coaltion and hosted GLSEN, HRC, Council on Child Abuse, DISCO, YWCA, and Centerpoint to review community needs. The goal of the monthly meetings is to examine unmet needs and determine how through collaboration we can all increase community capacity building so that LGBTQ youth are safe from violence and harassment.

*February 23rd EC will host it's Annual Meeting from 6-7:30pm at Below Zero (Cash bar and refreshments). Please attend and RSVP to kshrimplin@ywcacin.org.

Finally, EC is building its PAC (Political Action Committee)--if politics and advocacy is a skill set and interest of yours, please contact EC.
