Phone Banking for Change

Equality Ohio has invested in phone-banking equipment -- phones, laptops, and sophisticated calling software -- to support our grassroots efforts to pass the Equal Housing and Employment Act and Safe Schools Act.  We can also use this system to support our electoral and fundraising efforts. This operation isn’t cheap (about a $3,500 investment), but we know that reaching out to Ohioans all across the state is necessary to advance pro-equality laws and policies. Will you make a contribution of $35 or $100 today to become a member of Equality Ohio and support these efforts? Join us and help make Ohio a place where everyone feels at home!

EO Film Tour: "Bullied"

Join Equality Ohio for free screenings of the documentary“Bullied: A Student, a School and a Case that Made History”(check out the upcoming showings). The video chronicles the powerful story of a student who stood up to his anti-gay tormentors and filed a federal lawsuit against his school district. The suit led to a landmark federal court decision holding that school officials could be held accountable for not stopping the harassment and abuse of gay students. We need your help in scheduling showings of "Bullied". Can you host a viewing of the film? If so contact our Director of Programs and Outreach,Kim Welter.

Early Voting is Happening Now!

Early voting is now occurring; make sure your voice is heard. Avoid the lines on Election Day and vote now! Not sure where to vote or if you are even registered to vote? Check out the Ohio Secretary of State's website to find all the information you need to cast your ballot.

Queer the Census

Whether you’ve come out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer – you’re still hidden in this country. Without data that identifies the LGBT community, LGBT people are invisible in the eyes of our government. That’s why the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is telling the federal government that it’s time to count EVERYONE in our community. Make sure you get counted by clicking here.

Volunteer Spotlight

This month's volunteer rockstar is Amber Jones: "When I started volunteering with Equality Ohio I didn't know what I was getting myself into, and maybe they didn't either being that it was the first VOL night ever organized. I must say, however, it was one of the best volunteer opportunities I've had; everyone at VOL night was so nice and friendly. I think that everyone should have the pleasure of sharing some of their time with such a wonderful group!"

Everyone deserves to feel at home in Ohio.
