GETEQUAL seeks support

posted Mar 16, 2011, 11:17 AM by Michael Chanak

We wanted to thank all of the strong supporters who have already stepped up with a donation so far in our monthly sustainer drive. We still have a ways to go but I know that, with supporters like you, we will hit and beat our goals!

The type of work you and I do is vital to equality, but let’s face it –- I would rather be asking you to join me in a protest or a sit-in than asking you to support this work financially. The reality is that our work takes funding -– funding for bail, funding for materials, funding for transportation –- and, right now, we need your help financially.

This week, we're reflecting on the one-year anniversary of GetEQUAL, and I'm hoping you'll help us celebrate by supporting this work financially!

We've set an aggressive goal of finding 365 supporters who are willing to donate $15.00 per month (or 50 cents a day) to help sustain GetEQUAL's work nationally and on the state level. We know that sounds like a lot, but it's one dinner out or a few coffees a month to arm us with the tools we need to fight for our collective equality!

Monthly gifts also free up our small staff's time to focus more on creating actions and launching new and aggressive programs. The other great news about this drive is that any monthly gift will be matched for the first six months by a group of our strongest supporters!!

Can we count you in to give $15.00 per month –- or any donation amount you can –- to give us the tools to grow and take even more actions over the next two years?

Thank you so much for your support!!

The GetEQUAL Team (Robin, Heather, Michelle, Dan, and John)

P.S. Take two more steps to make sure we hit our goals -– 1. Forward this email to everyone in your email contact lists, and 2. Consider donating your Facebook and Twitter status with this message: I support @GetEQUAL and its mission for full #LGBT equality. Join me in supporting them! http://bit.ly/evpJjQ #p2
