To PFLAG Cincinnati -- The Summer 2011 newsletter is now on the website http://pflagcinci.org/ and features our 2011 scholarship winners. It also includes several other great articles. And Jane Biddinger writes another personal story. Click on Newsletters in the left column or go directly to http://pflagcinci.org/Newsletters/2011Summer.pdf . Br. David Betz was an active participant in PFLAG and facilitator for the Cincinnati Youth Group during his years in Cincinnati. He writes: "Br. David Betz, SM is celebrating his 25th Jubilee as Marianist Brother at a simple reception on Sunday, September 18, 2011 after the 11 AM Mass (around 12 Noon) at St. Francis De Sales School Cafeteria in Walnut Hills on Madison Road. Gifts are not necessary but please bring your favorite finger food to share with others. Drinks will be provided. It would be great if I can get some type of numbers of who may be attending by September 14, 2011". I'll be happy to pass along any notes or give you his email address. Our speaker at the September 13 meeting will be Eric Smoot who spent 30 years with the Cincinnati Police Department. His topic is "How to talk to children about hate crimes". Finally we will soon be sending our annual membership appeal. Your support is critical to continue our distribution of literature at meetings and other events, publishing our newsletter, supporting the national organization and of course our scholarship program. There are membership forms in the newsletter and on the web site. Any dues paid now cover membership through September 30, 2012. Thanks for your support of PFLAG. |
