PFLAG Speaker Tues 2/8 Steve Baines/GLSEN & Pepsi Refresh Project

1. Our speaker next Tuesday (2/8) will be Steven Baines. He sent the following blurb:

"Black and Gay and Not on the Down Low...Steven J. Baines shares his life journey of coming out and stepping up in Cincinnati. Steven is actively engaged in the community in health, education, church and social justice. He gives us insight into being inclusive and moving ahead.
His talk is dedicated to his parents, Lawrence & Carlon Baines, and in memory of his friend, David Crowley".

As usual, meeting at Mt Auburn Presbyterian Church, 7 pm social, 7:30 meeting. After introductions, announcements and the program we break into small groups and share our stories.

2. CONGRATULATIONS to our friends in GLSEN! The Pepsi Refresh Project just announced that GLSEN is one of two finalists to receive $250,000 for its project to "Make 10,000 Schools Safer for LGBT Youth". by sending a Safe Space Kit to 10,000 schools across the country. 4. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Cincinnati Men's Chorus presents two events for lovers and romantics of all types in February.
The first is “From Broadway With Love,” a cabaret featuring some of the most notable love songs from the Great White Way, on Saturday, Feb. 12 at Below Zero Lounge, 1122 Walnut St. in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. See http://www.cincinnatimenschorus.org/ .
