STOPS AIDS needs your help ...

posted Mar 31, 2011, 8:25 AM by Michael Chanak

Dear Supporters,

STOP AIDS has abruptly lost HALF its funding.
On February 28th, STOP AIDS was notified that after a 20 year funding relationship with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), STOP AIDS would no longer receive funding through Ryan White Part B. STOP AIDS was told that a new review process this year at ODH made the agency ineligible for funding.

Effective April 1, 2011, ODH funding will be redistributed to Caracole. STOP AIDS is working with Caracole to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Though more details are forthcoming, we are currently in the midst of working with Caracole to ensure a smooth transition for all our clients, many of whom will remain with their current case manager hired by Caracole.

STOP AIDS needs your help to

continue to provide HIV testing

and prevention education

In addition to providing case management services to over 1,000 people who are HIV+, STOP AIDS has provided nearly 3,000 individuals with free HIV testing, and 20,000 people with information and educational programming to prevent the spread of HIV every year. STOP AIDS will continue providing prevention education and HIV testing to combat this life-threatening disease in our community.

We need your help bridging this gap, while the agency reorganizes and determines how to move forward. Your support is appreciated now more than ever!

Can you help with a financial contribution? No matter how big or small it will help us to continue services in this chaotic time.
